Mayor's Secretary & Cemetery Officer – Full Time, 37 hours a week

Salary Lc Spine Points 6-15 (£20,043 - £23,953)  plus outer London weighting £637 and 5% loyalty bonus after three years’ service.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and self-motivated individual to work at Hertford Town Council.

The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the Mayor’s diary, answering the Mayor’s correspondence and organising civic events including Mayor Making, The Mayor’s Civic Dinner, Remembrance Sunday and fundraising events for the Mayors Charities. 

The role will also undertake all administration for the Town Councils Cemetery, responding to enquiries and taking bookings.  

The job is full time and will require occasional evening and weekend work whilst attending civic events or meetings. If you can work on your own initiative, have good attention to detail with excellent organisational, administrative, customer service and event management skills we would love to hear from you!

You will be joining a supportive organisation, working from the Town Council’s offices in the picturesque setting of Grade I listed, Hertford Castle. The county town of Hertford is one of the best places in the country to live and work and you could help our Council ensure that our service provision to residents and businesses remains of the highest standard.
