Secretary to the Mayor of Hertford - Part Time

Part Time - 18.5 hours a week

Based at Hertford Castle

Salary range £25,183 to £29,093, plus outer London weighting £706 (Pro Rata) and 5% loyalty bonus after three years.

A unique and fulfilling opportunity has arisen for a highly organised individual to provide administrative support and event planning/fund-raising for the Mayor of Hertford.

Hertford appointed its first Mayor in 1605. These days, Mayors are extremely active, supporting community groups and organisations and raising funds for local charities.

To help make all of this happen seamlessly, we need someone who will:

  • Receive and respond to all Mayoral engagement requests.
  • Manage the Mayor’s diary, ensuring they have the information/materials they need for each engagement.
  • Plan and deliver civic and one-off events, including the Mayor’s Charity fund-raising events, Mayor Making and Civic Services.
  • Support key organisations and dignitaries with events such as Hertford’s Remembrance Sunday Parade.

If you are methodical and can work on your own initiative, have good attention to detail with excellent organisational and customer service skills, we would love to hear from you!

The role is part time and will require evening and weekend working when attending events (with time off in lieu/overtime). Working days can be negotiated for the right candidate.
