Castle Plus Neighbourhood Plan
Hertford Town Council is proud to facilitate the Castle Plus Neighbourhood Plan. This is a unique opportunity for residents and businesses in the Castle Plus area to shape the future of our community.
The Castle Plus area covers the southern part of town, including the town centre and Hertingfordbury village - see the map below. In the documents list, at the end of this page, you will find materials shared at meetings, the area map and survey results, all available for download.
The first community meeting for the Castle Plus Neighbourhood Plan was held on Thursday, 14th November 2024 at Simon Balle School. Over 100 people attended to hear about the neighbourhood planning process and ask questions. The meeting invited residents and businesses within the Castle Plus area to let their voices be heard - to express their views, to discuss priorities and to help shape the future. More community events are being planned.
Community Steering Group:
The first meeting of the Community Steering Group for the Castle Plus Neighbourhood Plan, took place on 28th January 2025 at Hertford Castle. The Community Steering Group will lead on ensuring that the needs of the community are represented and supported and will meet in a public space around four times a year. A Chair has been appointed. The last meeting was on 3rd June 2025 at Hertford Castle.
Sub-groups around the agreed priorities of nature, community, living, business and heritage have been established - these groups meet regularly and report back to the Community Steering Group.
