Hertford Energy Hub
Our Hertford Energy Hub webpage has infomration on grants and schemes that aim to make reducing energy consumption as easy as possible. This includes information on ECO4, Warm Homes:Local Grant, the Great British Insulation Scheme and the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Information can also be found on the East Herts District Council website.
The hub also wants to help you find ways to make your home waste less energy and produce less carbon. Visit the Hertford Energy Hub webpage or attend Hertford Energy hub in person to find out how to save energy and money, decrease carbon emissions and increase comfort in your home.
Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant
The UK government offers help with the cost of installing EV chargers at home. This grant is available for homeowners, renters, educational establishments, businesses, workplaces and landlords.
For residents, grants can provides up to £350 or 75% of the cost, whichever is lower, for installing a chargepoint socket.
For workplaces, schemes provide support for organisations towards the cost of installing up to 40 electric vehicle chargepoint sockets at their sites. It covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (including VAT), capped at a maximum of:
- £350 per socket
- 40 sockets across all sites per applicant – for instance, if you want to install them at 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site

Through this service, all East Herts District households can obtain information on grants and help with checking your eligibility, as well as make sure you are recieve all the support you are entitled to, debt advice, detailed advice on how to save energy at home, and much more.

WasteAware
WasteAware is a partnership of all 10 district and borough councils and the county council. District councils are responsible for bin collections and bulky waste collections. Hertfordshire County Council runs the recycling centres. Together they are supporting residents to reduce, reuse and recycle.

HEAT: Herts Energy Advice Tool
East Herts is one of the first Local Authorities in the UK to have partnered with Energy Saving Trust to launch an energy efficiency app. The app is called HEAT: Herts Energy Advice Tool and could help you reduce your carbon footprint and save up to £70 on energy bills in just a few minutes.
