Hertford Town Council Awarded the Gold Standard

Hertford Town Council is delighted to announce that it has achieved Gold in the Local Council Award Scheme.

The Scheme is run by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC). The Gold Award demonstrates that a Council is at the forefront of best practice and achieves excellence in governance, community leadership and Council development.

Leader of the Council and Chair of the Personnel Sub-committee, Councillor Alex Daar commented: 

“The Council is delighted to have received this award that recognises the incredible dedication of every member of our team. The Council works tirelessly to serve the people of Hertford and we are all so proud that this has been commended at the highest, national, level.” 

Chair of the National Association of Local Councils (NALC), Councillor Keith Stevens, mentioned in his letter accompanying the award: 

“Receiving the Gold Award is an excellent achievement... This award shows that your Council has gone above and beyond the legal obligations; you lead your community and continuously seek opportunities to improve and develop even further. Therefore, the Council is to be congratulated immensely.” 

Hertford Town Council’s Corporate Plan, driven at a strategic level by environmental sustainability, sustainable tourism, communications and engagement with residents and businesses, was complemented by NALC - as a key part of the awards scheme application.
