Following its success last year, Hertford Family Pride Day is back for 2025 - on Saturday 14th June at Hertford Castle, from 12 noon to 4.00pm.
The event is FREE for all to attend and aims to bring the local community together, in a safe and welcoming environment; to have fun and celebrate inclusion and diversity in Hertford. The event’s simple message is: ‘Be kind, be yourself and all are welcome’.
Set on the picturesque main lawn of Hertford Castle, the day will host activities for children, face painting, a stilt walker, an ‘Express Yourself’ area with karaoke, support and information stalls, local charities, and food and drink vendors. Hertford Castle will also be open for visitors to explore free of charge.
There will be an amazing line up of live music and dance entertainment suitable for all.
We are delighted to welcome a music performance by rapper and storyteller Nate Watson, who has worked with Ed Sheeran and grime legend D Double E and has toured with X Factor finalists. Nate won the National Diversity Award for Positive Role Model (LGBT), solidifying his impact as a leader for inclusion and representation.
We are looking forward to a dynamic dance performance by Alpha Dancers, an inclusive 'dance family' who aim to create bonds and friendships, while celebrating anthemic music together.
Councillor Alex Daar, Leader of the Council, commented: “We had such a wonderful response to our first Family Pride Day last year and we can’t wait to do it all again! June is the month Pride is celebrated and it’s only fitting that Hertford welcomes everyone to come and join us in celebrating love and inclusivity for all.”
