In conjunction with the National Heritage Weekend, Hertford will be putting on two days’ worth of entertainment and activities to take visitors back to times gone by.
Saturday 8th September
Local groups will be putting on displays featuring local history, traditional arts such as weaving and spinning. Local historical buildings will open their doors to the public and the streets will be filled with historical re-enactment, folklore and dance from days gone by.
Also join in with the Heritage Trail and historical walks around the County Town.
Sunday 9th September
As part of National Heritage Weekend, Hertford Castle will open its doors to the public free of charge. Visitors will be able to explore the basement, dungeons, Robing Room and Downshire Suite. The Castle lawn will host a medieval encampment, medieval battles, falconry and much more. Free Entry, Charity Donations Welcome.
