Download ProgrammeAs part of the Hertford Food and Drink Festival, Hertford Town Council present you with the Beer & World Food Festival. An afternoon filled with worldly tastes and live music to get all your senses singing!
With a large beer tent, offering a variety of local and national beers, ales and ciders, and a dedicated Gin & Prosecco area this event is not to be missed.
With over fifteen world food stalls exhibiting on the main lawn & Island there is something for everyone. Get your taste buds singing with delicious Mexican, BBQ, Spanish and Thai treats as well as sweet delicacies.
There will be live music throughout the afternoon and the castle will be open for you to explore.
Performances by Hertford Rock Choir, Paul Booth and Si Lee, Foxpalmer, Dan Thomas, Why Not?, Damien Casey and Chris Sims.
This event is free of charge, but donations are welcome, raising money for the Mayor of Hertford’s Charity.
Note that Hertford Castle will be open until 4pm.

Entry information
The event is FREE of charge to attend, you are however welcome to donate to the Mayor of Hertford’s Charity Appeal Fund.
The Castle grounds can be accessed by foot at any of the following pedestrian gates, Castle Street, St Andrew Street Car Park, Main Castle Gate off The Wash, through the Moat Garden on Castle Street, or the gate off of Gascoyne Way.
Parking
There is no parking at Hertford Castle (including disabled) but there are a number of car parks close to the Castle which are free to use on Sundays. Please click here to download a map of the local car parks.
Amenities
Toilets are located to the side of the main lawn on the footpath by the Ashley Webb Shelter.
Disabled toilets & baby changing facilities are available inside the castle, please speak to a volunteer on the door for access.
First aid is located on the river bank by the Ashley Webb shelter.

Hertford Town Council declared a Climate Emergency in July 2023 and has committed to taking action to protect human health and our natural world to the maximum extent its powers allow. We therefore encourage people to visit the Castle and attend our events by public or active transport. The two Hertford railway stations, Hertford North and Hertford East, are a short walk from the Castle, and bus services are available to the Wash and Hertford bus station. Please visit National Rail for live train times and Intalink for bus routes.
