Entrepreneurs Event at Hertford Castle
‘Pitching for Business Growth’
Hertford Town Council will be hosting the next Hertford Entrepreneurs event on Thursday 7th March at Hertford Castle, from 18.30 until 20.00.
The event will start with wine, nibbles and networking from 18.30 – 19.00 followed by an hour talk on ‘Pitching for Business Growth’.
Dean Russell, the founder of Win That Pitch and author of How to Win: The Ultimate Professional Pitch Guide will be the guest speaker at the event.
At this empowering event, entrepreneurs attending will learn strategies needed to grow and expand their business. Attendees will explore ways to get the edge over the competition and learn techniques on how to gain the trust of prospective clients/customers.
By the end of the event, entrepreneurs will have confidence in how to sell their offering and feel motivated to embark on the next stage of business growth and know what they need to achieve it.
About the Guest Speaker
Dean is a recognised communications, leadership and pitch strategist with two decades experience working in senior roles and advising many entrepreneurs, household name brands, global agencies, senior politicians and business leaders.
Dean is a Fellow at the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, a former Regional Vice Chair for the Federation of Small Business and a judge for the British Association of Screen Entertainment. He is a regular contributor and interviewee for mainstream and industry publications ranging from The Sunday Times to The Holmes Report and PR Week, along with broadcasters including the BBC. In addition, Dean regularly delivers lectures on industry topics for institutions including University College London (UCL), Ashridge Business School (part of Hult) and the Institute of Direct & Digital Marketing.
Dean will be sharing insights from his book How To Win: The Ultimate Professional Pitch Guide and Pitch Masterclass (available on www.winthatpitch.win) at the event on 7th February.
The price to attend the event is £10 which includes a glass of wine and nibbles.

Hertford Football Match
The Mayor of Hertford and the Chairman of Hertford Town Football Club are joining forces to encourage Hertford residents to get behind their local football club and attend the match taking place at the West Street ground at 3pm on Saturday 15th September, in a show of support for the club at the start of the new season. Hertford Town Centre businesses are celebrating the Olympic Torch Relay passing through the town centre on Saturday 7th July with bunting and a multitude of activity including special markets, Street performance including morris dancing and music, new store openings, in store demonstrations and Sales. Lease Awarded to Mudlarks
Members of Hertford Town Council's Community Services Committee agreed to enter into a long-term lease of part of Cromwell Road allotments to Mudlarks at their meeting last week (Monday 11 June). Download File
Groundwork Hertfordshire and Hertford Town Council are working together to help turn a disused area of land on Sele Road in to community allotments. On Thursday 24th May a 2nd drop‐in consultation meeting will be held so residents of Sele Road and the local community can input their ideas and thoughts on the proposed designs. Download File

Hertford Town Council’s Gardens Support Local Charity
Members of Hertford Town Council’s Community Services Committee voted to award the maintenance contract for the public garden at St Leonard’s in Bengeo and the Sensory Garden at Hertford Castle to Mudlarks at their meeting on Monday 13th February. The Community Gardening Charity based at Cromwell Road Allotments, which supports people with learning disabilities and mental health issues, will also maintain the flowerbeds at Holy Trinity Church in Bengeo. Successful Legal Workshop for Local Businesses in Hertford
