Motor on down to Hertford’s largest free car show of the year set within the picturesque castle grounds. Exhibiting up to 40 modern and vintage cars, there will be plenty to marvel over. There will be food and refreshment stalls, fuelling an afternoon of family fun.

COVID-19 Secure Event
Amendments to the event have been taken to allow this event to go ahead and to ensure everyone's safety, including the introduction of a one-way system allowing visitors to view each exhibit and ensuring everyone remains at a safe social distance. Guests will be allowed to enter the event in groups of up to 10 (ten) friends and family at a time, and will be expected to adhere to social distancing rules at all times. Guests will also be required to provide details for test and trace as per Government guidelines. Please see below for full terms and conditions.

The organisers are awaiting further clarification and Government guidance to see whether any further alterations are needed. Event updates will be made online via the Town Council website

Event Information and terms and conditions

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY. ALL ATTENDEES MUST AGREE TO ADHERE TO THE RULES OF THE EVENT. ANYONE NOT ADHERING TO THE RULES MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

Location  

Hertford Castle, Castle Street, SG14 1HR 

Minimise travel where possible. If using public transport please ensure you follow government guidelines when doing so.  

Entry information  

The event is FREE of charge to attend, you are however welcome to donate to the Mayor of Hertford’s Charity Appeal Fund. 

Visitor numbers will be limited onto the event site to adhere to government guidelines and a queuing system will be in place for entry.

Visitors will only be allowed to enter in groups of up to 10 (ten) friends and family only, and each member of the group (over the age of 16) will be required to scan the QR code or provide contact information for Test & Trace as required by law (contact details will be kept for 21 days after the event date for NHS test and trace. Details will not be used for anything else).

A one-way system will be in operation throughout the event and social distancing must be adhered to at all times. 

A queuing system will be in place for entry. Please do not queue beyond the barriers. Visitors are encouraged to attend the event throughout the afternoon and not all turn up at the start, as you may be asked to return later.

Guests are responsible for ensuring they attend this event in line with Government guidelines.

Only one group will be allowed to visit each exhibit at any one time.

Guests who are accompanied by children are responsible for supervising them at all times and should ensure they follow social distancing guidelines.

Location

The Castle grounds can be accessed by foot at any of the following pedestrian gates, Castle Street, St Andrew Street Car Park, Main Castle Gate off The Wash, through the Moat Garden on Castle Street, or the gate off of Gascoyne Way.  

Parking  

There is no parking at Hertford Castle (including disabled) but there are a number of car parks close to the Castle which are free to use on Sundays. Please click here to download a map of the local car parks. 

Amenities  

Toilets are located to the side of the main lawn on the footpath by the Ashley Webb Shelter. Masks are required inside the toilet facilities. 

Disabled toilets & baby changing facilities are available inside the castle, please speak to a volunteer on the door for access.  

First aid is located on the river bank by the Ashley Webb shelter.

Photography

Photographers will be in attendance on the day and any photos taken may be used by the press or in future promotional activity. Please inform a member of staff or the photographer if you do not want to be included in any photos.
