Town Centre

The Town Council provides support for the town centre through activities to draw trade to the town, and engagement in matters affecting the town centre.

The Council has recently been awarded funding to place hanging baskets and planters around the town.

Busking

Hertford Town Council has launched a Busking scheme. Hertford Live! provides entertainment for people visiting, eating or shopping in the town, as well as giving an opportunity for local musicians and other entertainers to perform in public.

Hertford Town Council has entertainment licenses for 5 pitches in different areas of the town centre, which allows musicians, jugglers and other entertainers to perform. The scheme is administered by the Council's Town and Tourist Information Centre, which is located in Market Square by the Shire Hall. Hertford is a member of the Historic Towns Forum which represents local authorities having responsibility for the management of historic towns and cities.
