The Downshire Suite
The Downshire Suite, remodelled in Georgian style by the Marquess of Downshire in the reign of George III comprises two rooms, (the Salisbury Room and Mayor's Parlour) each with a beautiful ornate fireplace. The rooms are accessed by a wide gallery, which also leads into the Conservatory. The rooms are tastefully decorated and offer unparalleled style and elegance. Located on the ground floor they offer easy disabled access. The windows overlook the East Lawn, which is surrounded by mature trees. Ideally suited to a small wedding, the Downshire Suite offers the following: The Salisbury Room, the larger of the two rooms, can seat up to 50 guests and the elegant Mayor's Parlour offers a tranquil setting for the couple immediately after the ceremony. For a very special intimate wedding the Mayor's Parlour with its unique ambience seats up to 20. The Old Conservatory, which overlooks the Castle Wall and the arched entrance to the Moat Gardens, is perfect for a drinks reception.
