Council Tax
In 2009/10 roughly 6.8% of Council tax paid by residents in Hertford was spent by your Town Council. The remainder went to the County and District Councils and the Police Authority.
The Town Council receives no direct aid or support from central government. All our income is raised through grants, charges for services, interest from investments and council tax. The chart below summarises how we spent our budget. In 2009/10 this amounted to £1,263,801.
