Civil Marriages at Hertford Castle

For the ceremony only - a two hour package provides:

• A beautiful, unique and historic setting in riverside gardens.
• A traditional or a more modern room layout.
• A functions team at hand to help co-ordinate your wedding.
• The opportunity to extend the hire if a reception is required.

What happens on the day.

Half an hour before the Ceremony begins, the groom and guests arrive via the Old Conservatory.The groom meets the Registrar, whilst the guests take advantage of the grounds and the gallery.

Ten minutes before the Ceremony, the guests are invited to take their seats in the Ceremony Room and the bride arrives via the Lion Door. The ceremony takes up to 30 minutes including the signing of the register.

After the ceremony the newly weds have the option of a quiet few moments alone in the Mayor's Parlour. Guests make their way to the Lion Door to await and greet the newlyweds in traditional style with bio-degradable confetti if they wish.

Guests then have the opportunity to enjoy the Castle Grounds while the bridal couple is photographed either in the Downshire Suite itself or in the Castle Grounds.
